International Conference (AGBELEKAWE 2010)

Open and Distance Learning has become known as a veritable vehicle of access to educational opportunities for a substantial proportion of the population all over the world. However, ODL has its own daunting challenges. To address such challenges, the University of Ibadan, Distance Learning Centre is organising an international conference which includes a pre-conference workshop on appropriate evaluation practices in ODL.

Call for Papers

Academics, Educational Administrators, Non-Governmental Organisations, Graduate Students, Policymakers in Distance Education, Private School Owners, Other Educational Service Providers  etc. wishing to present papers or posters at the conference should submit their abstracts of not more than 250 words in MSword/Richtext format by e-mail attachment to  Mrs. Esther Durowoju: durowojuesther@yahoo.com or Mr. Tosin Kolajo: kolajotosin@live.com. The abstract should contain the Title of the paper to be presented, Name of Author(s), Institutional affiliation, functional e-mail address(s) and Telephone number(s). Deadline for submission of abstracts is June 30, 2010 while the full paper of accepted abstracts should be submitted on or before July 15, 2010

Those wishing to organize workshops, fora, exhibit their services or educational

wares should so indicate on or before July 15, 2010 to durowojuesther@yahoo.com or kolajotosin@live.com

Conference Fee: registration fee for the conference is N20,000.00 or $200. The fee covers registration, conference bags and materials, tea breaks and lunch but does not cover accommodation. Other participants i.e. organisers of fora, relevant parallel workshops, exhibitors of services or wares shall be required to pay appropriate fees.  

There shall be refereed publication of the conference proceedings,

  • Dr. Ramon Yusuf – Desk Officer, ODL, National Universities Commission, Abuja.
  • Professor Victor B. Owhotu – Director of Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State, Nigeria.
  • Mr. Kobani – Director of Distance Learning Centre, University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
